Cumming City Center is turning up the volume Friday night as Pandora’s Box brings its high-energy Aerosmith tribute to the Lou Sobh Amphitheater.

The free concert runs from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, October 2, giving local classic-rock fans an easy way to start the first weekend of October without leaving Cumming.

For anyone searching for an Aerosmith tribute close to home, this show is designed to lean hard into the sound, swagger and stage energy that made the original band a rock staple.

Pandora’s Box was formed in 2015 by Atlanta-area musicians with deep roots in the regional music scene.

Lead vocalist Nathan Utz and guitarist Steve Taylor have worked together for decades, a history that gives the group the kind of onstage familiarity that matters when recreating a band known for explosive chemistry.

Utz is especially central to the experience, combining vocal similarities with a visual resemblance to Steven Tyler that helps sell the tribute from the first song.

Lou Sobh Amphitheater has become one of Cumming’s most useful gathering places for live music, and Friday’s concert fits neatly into the City Center’s growing calendar of community entertainment.

The practical details make this one particularly appealing: admission is free and parking is free.

Guests can bring lawn chairs or blankets and settle in for the two-hour show, but tents are not allowed.

Friendly dogs are welcome on leash, which makes the evening workable for residents who like bringing four-legged family members along.

There are a few venue rules worth knowing before heading out.

Coolers, outside food, outside alcoholic beverages, glass bottles or containers, vaping and smoking are not permitted.

That makes arriving a little early a smart move, especially for anyone hoping to claim a comfortable lawn spot and grab food or drinks around City Center before the music starts.

The concert also lands at a good moment for Cumming residents looking for something social after the workweek without committing to a long drive into Atlanta.

With Saturday bringing the Farmers Market and another tribute concert to the same area, Friday night effectively opens a full weekend of activity around City Center.

For longtime Aerosmith listeners, expect the appeal to be nostalgia, familiar hooks and the spectacle of a band committed to recreating the feel of the real thing.

For casual visitors, it is simply a free outdoor rock show in the middle of Cumming on an early fall evening.

Pandora’s Box performs Friday, October 2, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lou Sobh Amphitheater at Cumming City Center.
